I am Annika Klose. Social Democrat, feminist and since 2021 elected Member of the Bundestag for the district of Berlin-Mitte.
I am a member of the committees for labour and social affairs as well as petitions. Professionally, I am a social scientist and used to work for the Federation of German Trade Unions (DGB). I advocate for a strong welfare state, better labour conditions, more sustainability and true equality – regardless of gender or origin. I have been fighting for these issues since my school days, as a long-time chairperson of the Berlin Young Socialists, and during my professional work at the DGB.
I’m always happy to hear your ideas or your criticism and to answer questions you might have.
WHAT I STAND FOR
SOCIAL SECURITY AND GOOD JOBS
I advocate for a strong welfare state that protects and supports its subjects under all circumstances. For this, we introduced the new Bürgergeld as a modern way of social welfare. With the Kindergrundsicherung we plan to close any gaps regarding the social security of children. Good working conditions, a minimum wage of 12 Euro and strong workers’ participation rights are key a modern labour market.
We are currently experiencing a lack of affordable housing in Berlin and rents are rising faster than wages. I support the building of affordable housing, a new non-profit housing scheme and rent control. No one should be forced out of their home anymore.
SOCIALLY JUST CLIMATE PROTECTION
Climate change is the greatest challenge humanity has ever had to face. We must act now to meet the 1.5°C target of the Paris climate agreement. However, all actions need to be designed with social justice in mind. We can’t afford to leave anyone behind.
A SOCIETY BASED ON SOLIDARITY AND TRUE EQUALITY
I stand firmly against all hate and discrimination. We need a progressive migration and asylum policy, safe escape routes and a strong stance against right-wing extremism. Everybody should be able to participate in our society – regardless of origin, gender, race, or sexual orientation.
As a member of the Bundestag for Berlin-Mitte, my aim it to do politics with you and for you. This is why I’m out and about in our neighborhoods, visiting companies and initiatives in every Kiez. I am also holding regular office hours – feel free to make an appointment if you want to talk to me!
In addition to Mitte, I am also responsible for the constituency 076 Berlin-Pankow. If you live there, I too am your contact person.
